prolapse?
 

I noticed this today on my Ibera ... I think I noticed it before but much smaller a few years back ... she is a prolific egg layer this one and she is acting gravid at the moment ... hoping this photo link will work

She doesnt seem to be in any pain, and she is very lively , eating etc and has been mounting the other females a lot! Mebbe that is a clue?
Not sure if I should do the sugar water thing if its still up like this tomorrow?

Yes a prolapse so soaking in sugar or glucose would help it go back in.
Maybe she has been straining to lay eggs and not found a suitable nest.
What you dont want is for the prolapse to get infected, so bathe and maybe put some Vaseline or the like on it to help keep clean. If it does not disappear then maybe a visit to a vet would be in order.
I know at least three of my females are eggy. But nowhere for them to lay unless it dries up some. Mine normally lay outside:0)

Should I try to make a place for her to lay indoors? i.e. a box of earth with a lamp over the top? She has been outside during the day but I bring her in at night as I am at high altitude here 3600 ft, hot in the day but chilly at night (5c).. She is pacing, and mounting trying to escape etc..
I will do the sugar in the morning,
How long do I bathe for? and I wash her afterwards?

When one of my males had a prolapse I kept him in the sugar water until it went back in, but I did this straight away. And it went back in. Not sure if it will work quickly with a female and it happened a while ago.
You could try building a nest inside, it never worked for mine, but if you dont try you wont know:0)
If your tortoises prolapse gets worse, then you will need a vet. They use Oxytocin I think to induce the eggs.

she has been in the water for 30 mins and its still the same... It is the same colour as her skin .. any idea what it can be?

I still think is a small prolapse but I could be wrong.
A visit to a vet would be in order I am afraid if it does not go back in:0(

for a vet at this time and not sure where to find one .. she seems perfectly happy and very lively but if it persists I will have to find a vet
