Pond liner?
Hiiiii :)
Im having a new wooden tortoise table built.....what sort of pond liner should i use for the inside to prevent the wood rotting? PVC? 3-ply? Any other suggestions? I honestly didnt realise pond liner was SO expensive  |
I don't use pond liner a little but cheaper is to get those giant wheelie bin liners and line it with that then wen it comes to clean out it is way easier as u can remove sum soil with ur hands but then gather up th rest and lift it all out in one swift action lol really works a treat :) but I no a lot of people use pond liner xx
|
Thick polythene or heavy duty rubble/rubbish bags is a lot cheaper than pond liner and work just as well.
|
I bought some cheap vinyl floor tiles and stuck those onto the base, am going to put them on the sides too.
|
That will work. You can silicone the seams, at least the edges, so water doesn't work its way under the tiles.
|
Thanks everyone! :) May look into the Bin liner idea :)
Much appreciated :) |
I got some pond liner off the roll at a local aquatics shop, it was the basic stuff and was 10 for 1 meter by 4 meter wide strip. If you wanted say 2 meters by 4 then it would have been 20.
This stuff is sooooo strong it will last for years and will definatly prolong the life of your table. I tried some tarps and things but nothing compares to the pond liner. |
I think nothing compares to pond liner either, as has been said it lasts years and easy to clean/disinfect and when they are digging it wont rip. i got quite a large sheet that did 2 large tables for about £17 off of Amazon and it will last years x
