weakest tort

has any1 here with a few torts seem to have that 1 tort that is in the wars all the time, i think my leonardo would have died if born wild, he has had rns, a poorly plastron, bitten face, and i have noticed his bite (jaw) is realy weak, he fails to tear weeds sometimes, and he always misses his food so he probably has bad eyes too.

The other torts are pretty much fine other than michaelangelos urates.

Did you buy him from a breeder?
With tender loving care, I am sure he/she can be built up. Lots of sunshine will help a lot.
And of course a great diet, and calciumcarbonate.

i was given him by a breeder who cant stop his rescued female from laying and he dont like the idea of binning eggs.

Have u seen any torts like this sandy, particularly weak

I had one carl. A little leo that was genetically screwed up. He wasnt able to proces calcium no matter what I did and he just slowly turned to mush and died.

It also can depend on the health of the female that laid the eggs.
If she is continually laying without getting enough calcium to deal with the next clutch of eggs,
the hatchlings of that next clutch will be lacking in calcium and vitemins too.
Sometimes females need a rest.

how do u stop them from laying sandy, dont they hold sperm for years?

Hi Carl

As far as I know they dont have fertile eggs longer than three years. After the eggs would be infertile.
But seperating from the male/males would be the first step. Mixing males and females will always
encourage mating/eggs.
