Heres Mine - Before i put the piccys up ill let you know my plans.
I plan to get a bigger outdoor enclosure or if not, i would like to add an extention for my tortoise outdoor pen.
I.e.- I take one side off and extend it with a nice soil patch, full of rocks, plants weeds etc.. and then i plan to put some netting over it to prevent predators. Also the soil section will have a base (so it can be moved if needed).

This was Beasley's (redfoot) baby pen, years ago. It was made by bolting together 2 kid's wading pools (top one upside down) and then removing the "bottom" of the one on the top. It was 5 feet in diameter.

Some advice please

Hi,

Here are some shots of my newly built tortoise run. At the moment I've built a hutch thats about 6ft x 2ft and 6" off the ground. As yet my two one year old Hermans, Seamus & Tallulah, only go out during the day time and at night they go on to their tort table.

My question is what sort of heating/lighting would you suggest for their hutch. As you can see from the pictures I have supplied the run with power by way of a weatherproof power supply box which is fused by an RCD fuse at the consumer box. This allows me to have four sockets for powering lamps/heating timers, thermostats etc. Should I just place a basking lamp at one end of the hutch and leave the other end cool or is some form of light needed up the other end?

Inside the run I have planted a couple of lavender plants and an hibiscuss along with loads of weeds as suggested by you guys. Any other things you could suggest would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.
