Sunday Quiz 19th December HO HO HO!

Hello my fellow tort lovers, this weeks quiz has a special theme: can you guess what it might be?
The first ten questions are all lines from Christmas carols - simply name the carol :?:

1) Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa la la la la
Deck The Halls

2) The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing of the choir
The Holly And The Ivy

3) Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying sealed in the stone-cold tomb
We Three Kings

4) In fields where they lay keeping their sheep on a cold winter's night that was so deep
The First Noel

5) The cattle are lowing the baby awakes
Away In A Manger

6) Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Silent Night

7) With the poor and mean and lowly, lived on Earth our saviour Holy
Once In Royal David's City

8) Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel
O Come, O Come Emanuel

9) O sing choirs of angels, sing in exultation
O Come All Ye Faithful

10) When a poor man came in sight, Gath'ring winter fuel
Good King Wenceslas

Next are a few stills from classic Christmas films - name them!:

It's A Wonderful Life

Lets have a few themed questions:

15) In what language do they say 'Joyeux Noel'?
French

16) The last chapter of the short story collection 'The Dubliners' was a brilliantly gloomy Christmas tale called 'The Dead'. Which Irish writer wrote it?
James Joyce

17) In what country does a character called Babushka deliver Christmas presents?
Russia

18) Christina Rosetti was a poet and sister of celebrated artist Dante Gabriel Rosetti. But what lovely yet bleak Christmas Carol did she write?
In The Bleak Midwinter

Who sang these Christmas number ones and what year? (so that's 2 possible points for each question)

19) Mull of Kintyre
Wings - 1977 (Paul McCartney will do)

20) Lonely This Christmas
Mud - 1974

21) Don't you want me baby?
The Human League - 1981

22) Stay Another Day
East17 - 1994

23) A Moment Like This
Leona Lewis - 2006 (although I will also accept Kelly Clarkson who apparently did the original)

24) Saviour's Day
Cliff Richard - 1990

25) Mr Blobby (go on - you can guess at this one!)
Mr Blobby (you can have a point for Edmonds his evil puppet master) - 1993

And finally - we can all name Santas reindeers (Rudolph, Dasher, Donner, Blitzen, Prancey, er Chilli, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub) but owing to the backlog caused by the snow Santa has hired two new helpers to help him out this year :-o Can you name them for a point each?

There are some really good answers in so far so keep them coming! And Shell you can send in a third part as well if you want to guess what year the Christmas number one songs are from - there is a point for that as well! :-)

My answers are in :)

Some great answers in so far! But I have now discovered that two singers sang one of the songs on my list, so as it's a time of goodwill to all tortoises, you can have a point for naming either of the singers :-)
The quiz deadline is 10 tonight as I'm watching the Apprentice final!
Good luck! :-)

I will tune in later or tomorrow - my eyes have gone all fuzzy again
