Revenge Murder?

I'm not going to say too much but there are a lot of rumours flying about locally that the murder of Jon Venables (the child murderer of Jamie Bulger) took place last week. There has been a real hush-hush about the incident - nothing on the local news, nothing in the papers, nothing allowed to be put up on Facebook, etc.
I'm sure time will tell whether it is him or not. He was granted lifelong anonymity, despite being recalled to prison for child pornography images, but was a drug addict, alcoholic and was allowed on dating websites. He was known to get drunk and blab about Jamie Bulger, giving away his identity, recently blaming Jamie's mother for not keeping her eye on her young son. Each time a new identity is provided for this man costs the taxpayer £25,000.

The victim was stabbed multiple times - rumoured to be 17 times. It is incredibly odd that this is well-known and spoken about locally yet nothing has been reported. The bus drivers are apparently having a field day sharing the gossip.

There's only so long until the tabloids are allowed to print any story, if indeed there is one.
The last two times a murder has taken place in the area (which thankfully is rare) the newspapers and local TV news have been full of it. One happened in a neighbouring town this year; a local mother murdered by her husband. The other took place four years ago and I know the family involved. Both cases were high-profile locally and heavily reported on.
It seems very suspicious that this new murder hasn't been added to the local police website, any of the local papers or on the local news.

In this case, I rather hope the rumours are true.

Oh wow, that is very odd Emma and thank you for sharing it with us. I too hope the Bstard got what he deserved. I'll wait to see the news with great hope.

As it's just hearsay right now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it is him. The blackout on any information is strange indeed.
Jamie Bulger's parents would have been informed if it was him and no doubt such news would be emotional and yet wonderful for them, especially as he has abused the system so many times during his police protection. He's cost the taxpayer thousands!
I'm sure once the tabloids get permission to print the story, they'll do so. It could just be nothing at all, but if so, why are the police, local newspapers, local radio and news programmes not mentioning it?

I don't suppose they will be able to keep it quiet for very long.

If it is him, he got what he deserved!

Karma is a b***h. Fingers crossed it's true. Only time will tell

We expect that they'll keep it quiet or at least unconfirmed until there's a trial for the person who carried out the attack. They need an unbiased jury and let's face it, if a lot of people were aware of who the victim was, they may well make up their mind long before hearing all the evidence. But once the newspapers are allowed to report on it, if indeed it is him that has been murdered, it'll be front page news.

If it is true, the person who did it should get a pat on the back. I'll probably get shot for saying that but that's just my opinion :)

To be honest I don't think there would be some blackout on this. They might say details are sketchy but some form of news will surface if this is true. The news is the news and this would be main news. There's no way something like this would have a lid on it.
I google searched this last night, nothing. All I read was that Venables was on an online dating site. You'd think that anyone wanting his blood could simply set a trap.
Until I see this in the news...I'm sceptical. This wouldn't be kept from the public. It's too mainstream. And would still generate big time interest. xx:)
