worming

ok how do you worm tortoises?
i have trouble doing the cats and dog lol
im looking into panacure granules (cheap on net as i refuse to pay vet prices on that kind of stuff)
i will get scales so they get accurate dosage
how often do they need doing
and how do you get in in their mouths??

thanks
mandy

ps ive not noticed any worms as of yet

Hi Mandy
Granules is something i haven't tried but Dazza has used paste he will possible help you with how he administered
this which i'm sure is a lot easier than the tubeing method .

Intersting question i would also like to know about the paste and the granules.

The paste once measured is just put onto a piece of their favorite foods. But you always get one
that wont eat it<g>..

Think im going to give that a go with my adult red, there is no way i could open his mouth he is too strong but he cannot resist a mallow tree flower.

where can you buy the paste from? :D

piglet 26-07-2006 02:09 PM

Hi linz i'm sure a veterinary practice must hold it as pastes i believe are generally used for horses :?:

I looked at the site and you can get panacur liquid for dogs and puppies do you suppose that would be ok and how would you work out the dosage I have only ever used granules and paste for the horses but I think you can no longer but wormers from saddlers and it has to come from a vet. Liquid would be a lot easier to give.
