North American Wood turtles
 
A friend and I have managed to secure a long term captive breeding project with these highly enigmatic North American turtles. The group, has been together for many years and have produced some very nice offspring:

Being ignorant about this species, how are the kept please?

They are very similar to North American Box turtles in habit, but just a bit more aquatic.

As you say, the eyes have great character.
I also have a couple of captive bred youngsters from this group which are stunning. Their mahogany sculptured carapace is a natural artwork.
