Interesting Read

My son just sent me this link.

http://jobs.vettimes.co.uk/article/a...203a0-82449225

It's nice to see a professional recognise that torts aren't always well-understood within the veterinary services and that antibiotics are being used less readily, which came up in another thread a short time ago.
My son's a trainee RVN and it's great to see jobs like this he can aspire to. He has a lot of motivation and ambition and his colleagues often refer to him for help with exotic cases at work due to our love of reptiles and amphibians. Even chickens are classed as exotics in the small animal veterinary world.

Do you think Kalessi's dragons are classed as exotic too ! I'm thinking yes ! keep them away from the chickens !
This is fab article Emma, thanks so much for posting. There are little huts at ZSL you can stay over in did you know? it's on their web sight. Booked up ages in advance though, but how fabulous ! ....CB

No I didn't know that. My son would love that!

This is very interesting, thanks for sharing Emma. The bit about the antibiotics, is exactly what my was telling me, hence not giving me antibiotics for RNS straight away. And yes, I think tortoises are more intelligent than we give them credit for. They learn many things, and quite quickly too.

Thank you Emma - really good article.

I think I now know why Bertie likes me stroking under his chin, he obviously thinks I'm there to remove his parasites!

Can we adopt a title of Parastical Removal Officers. I'd love to remove a few from the planet. I love ZSl - their Gorilla is pretty scarey though. Big thing and you could just see he was sooooo intelligent. eyeing you up. like planet of the Apes I thought. CB
