Tortoise paraphernalia

We've only been keeping tortoises for two years but have already amassed quite a few things chelonian around the house. I don't think I have a problem yet but it might be heading that way.

What tortoise stuff do you have at home?

A brass tortoise padlock from India, I guess it must be a star tortoise - it's on a beautiful carved dowry chest also from India.

An ashtray (I don't smoke though)

A table lamp

A lawn ornament - we had this for many years before getting a real tortoise, maybe where we got the idea from

Christmas tree ornament (when it's not Christmas it lives with the ducks)

My favourite tortoise shirt (yes I have more than one!)

One of my other tortoise shirts

One of my attempts at making a monoprint - I'm terrible but my partner is doing a fine art degree

I got tired of dusting all the 'junk' I was keeping, so I gave it all to my sister in Oregon.

I keep trying to find new homes for my ornaments and all the other bits and pieces but somehow seem to get more each birthday and Christmas to replace them!

Sadly my sister has masses of stuff of her own as she collects pigs so won't help me out!

The sculptures are great fun. My dad was a potter so always had fun with clay growing up. Is there a tortoise museum anywhere anyone’s been to?

I know when it is I would let you know but I know best not to cross her.:)

ha ! Iyes !

did style these on my own tortoises also so could do them of the browns.

Not sure about museums ! My ideal would be a massive tortoise sanctuary like France had.....I need to buy an island not quite Jurassic park style with man eating tortoises but with the land to watch evolution, CB
