Hi Mel. Rascal is a lot calmer now but still a little grumpy when I go to pick him up. He gives us massive cuddles now. he gets all of him and cuddles up to as much of us as he can. Last night he got into my bra! I would not have minded but I was wearing it at the time!

I haven't got a chinchilla wheel. When it came it was a thing called a flying saucer. It was about 12 inch plate, made of plastic. It sits at an angle and can easily take Rascal's wieght. It doesn't seem to make any noise at all. I really miss not being able to hear him bang and clatter about at night. We haven't seen him sit on it yet but I'm sure he must use it. He poo's all over it. Bless. Oh and I can hold him in my hand now. He falls asleep on me. He seems to fall asleep a lot. Does Fidget? Are hedgehogs permanetly knackered?

Must look in to getting some chinchilla sand. Tried Rascal with some cottage cheese today and he didn't touch the stuff. Not even when I covered meal worms in it. He likes the yolk of an egg. I give him a tiny piece. How much egg do you give Fidget?

Hi Mel. What on earth is chinchilla sand? Where do you get it? My partner shown me a funny trick the other night with Rascal, to lay him on a flat board with a towel on, put your arms on the board so he can't fall off and he sniffs you then fall flat out asleep. So funny. Rascal likes peas but not carrots. He eats chicken though. I must try to find other food for him like you have. He loves meal worms but I know they are fattening so not too many.
I did manage to get a big chinchilla wheel from ebay. Had more luck another time. I have seen him on the little wheeel we bought and poor thing was half off it so he needs a bigger one.
Hope you and the family are all well. Anna

Hi Mel, how is fidget doing? Fudge is 'quilling' at the moment and is very grumpy..lol. The vet said to use a few drops of olive oil in the bath and rinse the skin with it...seems to have helped with the itching....has fidget done this yet? Just wondered as they are exactly the same age.x

I tried to buy that wheel on ebay but so far no luck. I'm not that good with this new technology stuff. Keeps telling me my pass word is wrong. I gave Rascal a bath last night. Because he is itchy and scratchy Tortlover said to put oil in his bath. He came out shiny and soft so I hope that I didn't add too much. Can't see anything wrong with his skin though. He was so exicable afterwards he climbed up to my partners neck. I got him out latter and he fell asleep in my arms. He does that a lot. He doesn't eat much at all. I'm a bit worried about that really. What do you feed yours on?

Rascal does use his wheel. Only during the night when it's dark and we are in bed. I can hear him sometimes. What a clatter he makes. His wheel is actually called Silent Running! He keeps on toppling it though. I find it all over the place in the morning. I think he might need a bigger one.
