I had the same problem with my spur thigh male. Mine also likes freedom when its warm enough other wise he won t even eat if I hand feed. Mine improved in his appetite when I moved from central derbyshire to west wales.The average temp is higher and the season starts earlier. I think the milk thistle an excellent idea! I collect the flower heads of milk thistles in the summer and he loves them fresh.However mine won t eat any kinds of food supplements even if on his favourite food. I hand feed mine cooked carrots when he wont eat fresh food.
