She was given to me as a hatchling and is 9 years old, so we dont know what sub species only that she is a testudo graeca.
I have only fed her on weeds, dandelion etc all her life although I left home about 5 years ago and left her with my mum as she has a large garden and tortoise enclosure and I moved to a flat. I know my mum occasionally feeds her lettuce even though I have told her many times not to. I only live 20 mins away so go back every weekend to see her.
She has a cuttle fish and has Nutrobal twice weekly and still has some pyramiding? What else can I do?

Many thanks

Hi Hannah
Is she hibernated as if she is kept awake this will ad to over growth.
Hannah i think your tortoise could possibly be a testudo g g from north africa but because of her broad shape theres a chance she may well be a hybrid between ibera and graeca .

I agree with Darren, I think she is a graeca graeca, but has a particulaly wide body for a GG.
You can over feed even on the correct foods, I know I have done it myself a long time ago.
One of the reasons I try to impress on new keepers, I dont want them to make the mistakes I have in the past.
If your tortoise has acssess to a largish garden with plenty of plants to eat, I wouldnt give her
any extras, as this will encourage over growth.
