Im chris and i recently bought a herman tortoise , just joined the site to find out more info as and when i may need it (found the site via ebay)..

My first question is when does the Nutrobal Calcium balancer need to be swapped/expire?

here's my tortoise STEVE... unsure how old he is think i have to look on my certificate for this? nor do i know what sex
he/she is!!!

Hi Chris Welcome to the forum.
It should say on the tub when your nutrabol expires :wink:
Your tort is lovely. Yes it will say a year of hatching on the certificate. He/she looks a bit small to sex yet you usually have to wait until they are about 5 :)

nutobal should have an expiry date on it my present tub has 2 years left

limestone flour = calcium lasts a very long time given that it is stored in an air tight container and kept dry

cheers guys! it says it expires 08/08 so guess il continue to sprinkle it on his food:) Currently trying to grow the weed seeds i got off ebay!

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum. Steve is truly gorgeous! Just a note on the limestone flour - I thought it lasted nearly forever (unlike the nutrobal with the sell-by date), as it is only ground up limestone (how could it go off?). Does someone know for sure?

Nina i think your right but im sure i read somewhere on here that it should not be kept in a fridge or was that nutrobol or betadine or something completely different :?
